Health and Safety
There are medical centers around the city, but for medical emergencies, contact the city hospitals. Melbourne is generally a safe city, although people should avoid deserted dark areas at night and be aware that the nightlife areas around King Street and St. Kilda can get unruly and drugs can be prevalent. There are 23 CCTV surveillance areas in the city, and safe weekend taxi ranks are located at 55 King Street, Flinders Street Station, and at 50 Bourke Street.
