McAlpine House Review
Originally built for a pearling master, this luxury guesthouse in tropical gardens is full of exquisite Javanese teak furniture. With an inviting pool, a library, and personalized service, this is a good place to recover from the rigors of a regional tour, as well as a great place to simply hang out for a day or two. Breakfast can be either light and tropical (with fruits and pastries) or a substantial affair. Alfresco dining is available five nights a week. It also offers a villa which comes with a private chef. Closed from November to March.
