Although it's 30 km (19 mi) from Perth's business district, a drive that takes about 25 minutes, this palm-shaded building—which resembles a southern plantation owner's mansion—is a comfortable place to relax for a few days, especially if you like golf or want to see the kangaroos that roam freely across the golf course. Spacious rooms, decorated in subdued pastels and warm tones, all have views over the lagoon or the 27-hole, Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed golf course. A free shuttle runs daily to the Joondalup train station and Lakeside Shopping Centre. Nearby attractions include Hillary's Boat Harbour and AQWA.
