Fodor's Review

Arguably one of Australia's best hotels, right on the Hobart waterfront, this row of historic warehouses and a former jam factory have been transformed into a sensational, art-theme hotel, where the work of Tasmania's finest visual and performing artists is displayed. The friendly full-time curator is on hand to advise and explain, as is the in-house historian. The spacious guest suites, also artistically decorated, reflect the influences of a rich colonial trading history

with India and China: all suites have natural wood furnishings and king-size beds with exotic silk covers. Bathrooms are supermodern, with stainless-steel and translucent-glass fittings. Some suites have harbor views; others overlook the stunning glassed-in courtyard atrium.
