Dial 000 for an ambulance, the fire department, or the police. Dental Emergency Information Service provides names and numbers for nearby dentists. It's available only after 7 PM daily. Royal North Shore Hospital is 7 km (4½ mi) northwest of the city center. St. Vincent's Public Hospital is 2½ km (1½ mi) east of the city center.

Your best bets for a late-night pharmacy are the Kings Cross and Oxford Street (Darlinghurst) areas, or ask reception for information if staying in a major hotel in the city. Since Sydney's overnight pharmacies work on a rotating basis, call the Pharmacy Guild for 24-hour advice and referrals to the nearest open outlet.
