For the price of admission to two or three top attractions, the SmartVisit Card (available from the Sydney Visitor Centre in the Rocks and several other locations) gets you into 40 Sydney sights and attractions—including the Opera House, Sydney Aquarium, and Koala Park Sanctuary. Several different cards are available, including single-day and weekly cards. Cards may also include public transportation. Prices start at A$65 for a single-day adult card without transportation.

A SydneyPass is a good value if you have limited time and want to do a lot of travel on public transportation. The pass allows unlimited travel on public buses, harbor ferries, and on most suburban train services. It also includes the AirportLink rail service, the guided Sydney Explorer and Bondi Explorer buses, and any of the three sightseeing cruises operated by the State Transit Authority. A three-day pass is A$110; five-day, A$145; seven-day, A$165. Purchase passes from the Tourism New South Wales counter on the ground floor of the international airport terminal or from the driver of any Explorer bus.

A TravelPass allows unlimited travel aboard buses, ferries, and trains (but not the light-rail system) within designated areas of the city for a week or more. A useful pass is the weeklong Red TravelPass (A$32), which covers the city and eastern suburbs and inner-harbor ferries. (Ferries to Manly and Sydney Olympic Park cost extra.) TravelPasses are available from railway and bus stations and from most newsagents on bus routes. Contact the Transport Info Line for all state-government-run transportation.
