Short of taking a scenic flight, a visit to the top of this 1,000-foot golden-turret-topped spike is the best way to see Sydney's spectacular layout. This is the city's tallest building, and the views from its indoor observation deck encompass the entire Sydney metropolitan area of more than 1,560 square km (600 square mi). You can often see as far as the Blue Mountains, more than 80 km (50 mi) away. The tower is home to OzTrek, which takes you "high above" Sydney's major attractions. However, the real adrenaline rush comes from SkyWalk, a guided walk around the outside of the golden turret some 880 feet above the city. Walkers are attached to the tower's superstructure by harness lines and wear special all-weather suits. For those who work up an appetite, the building houses two restaurants in the turret.

The Skytower itself is the highest building in the city. You can go to the very top floor and look through the glass at the city, take the OzTrek tour (so-so value) or for about $90 take the Skywalk. This is getting into a special type overall suit, strapping on a full body harness and going up onto the roof attached to a security cable to look straight down on the city. If you plan on taking the last "day" tour about 5:00 p.m. you will be out on the roof as the sun sets and you see the city lights come alive. BEAUTIFUL!!!
The hidden treasure is the restaurant. If you check you will find it is about $50 to $80 per person to eat in the revolving restaurant(bottom three floors of the top of the tower), but if you check at the bottom ground floor they have a desk that gives out special passes for $15 plate specials. I had the fish and chips and it was a heaping plate - more than my 280 lbs. could eat. You get the same revolving restaurant experience for the price of a McDonald's meal, only much better food! A real treasure!!
