Sydney Wildlife World

Fodor's Review:

Sydney's newest major attraction brings 6,000 native Australian animals right to the heart of Sydney. Kangaroos, koalas, and dozens of other species come together under the one huge roof—in nine separate habitats—next door to the Sydney Aquarium. A huge wire-mesh dome covers Flight Canyon, an aviary where dozens of birds fly freely overhead as you stroll the 1-km (½-mi) walkway. You'll find koalas in Gum Tree Gully, and endangered bilbies, together with other nocturnal creatures, in the After Dark habitat. The Lush Canopy rain forest habitat is home to the cassowary and red-legged pademelons (a type of kangaroo), while giant cockroaches and other creepy crawlies can be found in Spineless Wonders. Each day you can watch a different animal being fed (including the snakes). Twice-daily bird training demonstrations take place at 11 and 3.
