The view east over the harbor is glorious, the private dining rooms are plush, and Dietmar Sawyere's Asian-influenced classical food is top-notch. The set-price three-course dinner menu (A$125) might include steamed Western Australian yabby tails with asparagus and bread sauce, and espresso parfait with dark chocolate and Grand Marnier sauce for dessert. The vegetarian menu, with the likes of Ossau Iraty sheep's-milk cheese on a salad of apples, dates, celeriac, and walnuts, is sublime. There is also a six-course tasting menu (A$140-A$200) with wine pairings. Arrive early and sip champagne before dinner, and take in the glorious views from the attached lounge.
