Sydney's most exciting and authentic Thai food comes from this glamorously restored restaurant in the Old Sailors Home. Downstairs, business types rub shoulders with sightseers and hard-core shoppers, devouring delicious red curries and salads fragrant with lime juice and fish sauce. Upstairs is the Sailors Thai Canteen (no reservations accepted), a casual noodle bar where long, communal zinc tables groan with som dtam (shredded papaya salad) and pad thai (rice noodles stir-fried with shrimp, egg, peanuts, and chili).

I enjoyed the food but I didn't like their attitute. I went with my husband on friday night. It was their busy time, so they didn't bother to give good service to us( we were only two). Even they rushed to place the bill just after we finished our food. That was humiliating.
