Moored in the shadow of Harbour Bridge, the Park Hyatt is the first choice for visiting celebrities (a minor irony, considering that the thousands who cross the bridge each day get a bird's-eye view of the guests lazing about the hotel's rooftop pool). Rooms here are decorated with reproductions of classical statuary, contemporary bronzes, and Australian artwork. Nearly all the spacious, elegant rooms have balconies and views of the Opera House. This is also the only hotel in Australia with full-time personal butler service in all rooms. Excellent Australian cuisine awaits at the restaurant.

This is a great location for a hotel. You can see the Opera House from your room (depending where you book)and the "Rocks" area is fun to walk around, shop and dine in. The service was wonderful and we will return to this hotel for sure.

We're currently staying at the Park Hyatt. We booked a King-sized deluxe room with an Opera House view. We're not impressed. The bath is cramped and outdated. The reception staff were haughty -- which was amazing considering that it took more than an hour for our room to be available. (A 3pm check-in is beyond their reach apparently.) The hotel "broadband" is a joke -- $30 a day per computer for a connection that barely reaches ISDN speed. Be prepared to be nickel and dimed for everything at this hotel. My advice: Take your nickels and dimes elsewhere.
