With the beach just across the road, a rooftop pool, and a relaxing day spa, a stay at the Swiss Grand makes it easy to forget that you're just 15 minutes away from the action of Sydney. Ask for one of the 65 beachfront rooms, as the rest face the sometimes-noisy side streets of this crowded beachside suburb. The hotel, which resembles a huge wedding cake, is often buzzing with wedding parties on weekends, so look out for the good selection of inexpensive package deals for families and couples at other times.
