Residences of this attractive suburb opposite the city and Opera House have million-dollar views—and prices to match. Two of Sydney's most important mansions stand here. The more modest of the two is Kirribilli House, which is the official Sydney home of the prime minister and not open to the public. Next door and far more prominent is Admiralty House (02/9955-4095) —the Sydney residence of the governor-general, the Queen's representative in Australia. This impressive residence is occasionally open for inspection. Both houses can be seen during harbor cruises.
