Rugby in Sydney

Known locally as footy, rugby is Sydney's winter addiction. This is a fast, gutsy, physical game that bears some similarities to North American football, although the action is more constant and the ball cannot be passed forward. The season falls between April and September. Aussie Stadium (Moore Park Rd., Centennial Park, Paddington. 02/9360-6601. www.scgt.nsw.gov.au) is the home stadium of the Sydney Roosters. Other games are played at Telstra Stadium (Sydney Olympic Park) and stadiums throughout the suburbs.
