The Wave Resort Review

This award-winning high-rise apartment resort is one of Broadbeach's newest and most luxurious. Its beachfront location translates into superb ocean or Gold Coast and casino outlooks, but early-morning sun floods east-facing apartments: ensure you book one with blackout drapes if you're a late riser. Spacious, ultra-modern one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments and luxe sub-penthouses (31st floor and above) all have private, furnished balconies designed to maximise the sweeping views. Each is well equipped, with a full gourmet kitchen, quality neutral-toned furnishings, flat-screen TVs (including one in the master bedroom), and firm beds. Those staying eight days or more get a mid-stay mini-service (daily servicing costs extra). Though the beach is close by, there's a well-equipped gym, sauna, and steam room in the complex; a large, heated, infinity-edge pool, deckchairs, and an impressive stainless-steel BBQ on level four; and a small pool, Jacuzzi, and second BBQ area on level 29, all accessible only via guest keycard (as is the ultra-secure labyrinth of a carpark). Supermarkets, a post office, and several eateries lie seconds away via a stomach-droppingly-fast elevator. Reservations can pre-book theme-park tickets and park transfers for guests.
