Mention that you're looking for a place to eat in Yandina, and even Brisbane foodies say "Spirit House." The restaurant's trio of credentialed chefs, who travel annually to Asia to get inspiration and skills, do a remarkable job re-creating contemporary Asian cuisine on Queensland soil. The menu, designed around plates to share, changes seasonally, with most ingredients sourced locally; a worthy signature dish is the whole crispy reef fish with tamarind-chili sauce. Save room for delectable desserts, best sampled in the tasting plate for two. The lush garden setting has a lagoon and Buddhist shrines. A hydroponic farm and cooking school with daily lessons are on-site.
