Montville

This charming mountain village, settled in 1887, is known as the creative heart of the Sunshine Coast, as many artists live here. There are panoramic views of the coast from the main street, an oddly charming mix of Tudor, Irish, and English cottages constructed of log or stone; Bavarian and Swiss houses; and old "Queenslander" homes. Shops are a browser's delight, full of curiosities and locally made crafts; galleries showcase more serious pieces by local artists. Note that the nearest banks (and thus ATMs) are in Nambour.
