At Daydream Island Resort & Spa many activities, such as water polo, beach volleyball, aquarobics, tennis, bocce, and the use of resort kayaks and catamarans, are included in room rates, as are marine talks and fish feeds, spa tours, scavenger hunts, rain-forest walks, and nightly outdoor cinema screenings. Guided fishing, snorkeling, and scuba diving day trips, parasailing, jet skiing, waterskiing, and wakeboarding sessions, guided sea kayak and ocean rafting excursions, glass-bottom boat tours, banana-boat tube rides, croc safaris, and more can be arranged through the resort's Tour Desk for an additional charge.

Daydream offers day trips to Whitehaven Beach on catamaran Camira, including snorkeling gear, a BBQ lunch, morning and afternoon tea, and all beverages (including alcoholic drinks) for A$175; snorkel and dive cruises to Knuckle Reef Lagoon with classy local operator Cruise Whitsundays for A$199; sailing excursions on maxi-yacht Ragamuffin; an introductory pool scuba training session and ocean dive for A$110 (or, if time permits, a multiday PADI Open Water dive course including training, six ocean dives, and all gear for A$325. Guided local dives for certified divers cost A$90 for the first dive, A$70 for an additional dive. An ocean rafting excursion on fast, semi-rigid inflatable boats takes you to neighboring islands and gorgeous Whitehaven Beach, with stops to snorkel and stroll around. Half- and full-day sportfishing trips around the Whitsundays on Sea Fever (07/4984–2734 or 0427/524975 www.seafever.com.au) include bait, tackle, and lines. Or take a helicopter flight to Fantasea's Reefworld pontoon, where you can snorkel, take semi-submersible tours, and try out the giant waterslide. Nonguests can also book activities through the resort.
