Atmospheric indoor-outdoor dining, attentive service, and a well-stocked bar are nice, but the primary draw at this relaxed restaurant is the food, which highlights the freshest local ingredients: reef fish and prawns straight off Port Douglas's fishing boats, and seasonal fruit, vegetables, and herbs from the Atherton Tableland. The seasonal menu might include dukkah-crusted kangaroo loin with beetroot-goat's cheese tart; prawn-scallop ravioli in a creamy chardonnay-leek sauce; apple-infused Tableland pork; or eye fillet with a smoked-crocodile croquette and Daintree coffee jus. Book ahead for dinner, especially in peak periods.
