Just 21 simply but stylishly furnished cabins, bures (tropical-style bungalows), and A-frame bungalows are strung along a palm-fringed, white-sand shore, their balconies invitingly slung with hammocks. Wallabies, goannas, brush turkeys, and big-eyed curlews wander freely about the grounds; kookaburras cackle from the trees. Spotlessly clean cabins, Palm Bay's equivalent of "standard" rooms, have dark-wood furnishings and sleek tribal decor; bures also have lounges; and each bungalow has a daybed in a separate lounge area. Three elevated suites with expansive decks, outdoor dining areas, and whitewashed interiors occupy the hillside behind: each has a chic lounge area with a plasma TV and DVD/CD player.
