Great Barrier Reef Restaurants

Bommies Restaurant Review

In keeping with Hamilton Island Yacht Club's modern design and upmarket ambience, Bommies has luxuriously carpeted floor, polished-wood, sail-shape tables and comfortable Eames chairs. Indeed, it's the ideal setting for fine Modern Australian food. After a day out sailing, what could be more fitting than ceviche (super-fresh raw fish marinated in lime and spices), just-caught panfried reef fish, or a perfectly cooked seafood risotto? Ravenous yachties might prefer to tuck into tender steaks or tasty 'roo fillets. Either way, a sophisticated resort ambience is ensured by Bommies' smart-casual dress code, no-kids-under-12 policy, and deliberately small tables. There's also a private dining room seating up to 40 (minimum 24 hours' notice required). The island's classy new fine-dinery is justifiably popular, especially in peak season—book early to secure a coveted table on the deck.
