Fodor's Review

Choose your own live mud crab from holding tanks at this much-lauded seafood restaurant fronting Dickson Inlet. Watch yachts dock as you sit on the deck and down the sunset special: a generous bucket of prawns and a choice of beer, wine, or bubbly for A$18; arrive around 5 and you can watch resident giant 250-kilogram (550-lb) grouper, George, get fed. Modern Australian dishes put the focus on fine, fresh North Queensland produce, especially seafood, which is delivered

direct from local fishing boats to the restaurant's pontoon. You can start with freshly shucked oysters or chilli-salt calamari, then move on to beer-battered Spanish mackerel or a prosciutto-wrapped barramundi fillet. There's also an appealing kids' menu (A$15, 2 courses) and a terrific wine and cocktail list. If you're planning to come during peak dinner hours, a reservation is highly recommended.
