Cairns Colonial Club Resort Review
Though it's just a few minutes outside the city center, this resort's 11 acres of tropical gardens make you feel a world away from the hubbub of Cairns. The colonial-style compound is built around three lagoonlike swimming pools (including a toddler pool) and a poolside café. Sports facilities, a fitness center, a games room, a children's playground and babysitting services make it a great spot for families. Rooms, some more chic than others, have simple appointments, ceiling fans, and in-house movies; studios also have cooking facilities and separate bedrooms. There's no spa on-site but spa-style treatments are available.
