Fodor's Review

With its private beach, infinity-edge pools, and complex of luxe freestanding pavilions, Hamilton Island's most exclusive resort has a tranquil, decadent ambience and impeccable service standards. Located well away from the main resort complex and marina, Qualia caters to a privileged few. There are two bars and gourmet restaurants—one open for breakfast and dinner; the other at lunch—as well as a private dining room. A day spa, gym, library, and boutique mean that whatever the weather, you're not bored. Gloriously appointed guest pavilions and a lavish beach house, handcrafted from Australian timbers, stone, and glass, harmonize beautifully with their tropical surroundings. Expansive, flow-through lounge areas with designer furnishings and high-end entertainment systems open onto large private decks. Windward Pavilions also have their own plunge pools; the extravagant Beach House has a dining room for 10 and its own guesthouse, 39-foot infinity pool, and gardens. Included in your

rate are dozens of resort facilities and services—breakfasts (and for an extra premium, gourmet dinners), room and concierge service, nonalcoholic drinks, the use of Qualia's two Hobie Cats and other water-sports equipment, wireless Internet, 24-hour chauffeur service, and buggies to get to the resort complex (if you can drag yourself away). Guided walks, kayaking and snorkeling tours, beach drop-offs, and culinary masterclasses are also free to guests. Diving, fishing, sailing, scenic flights, golfing tours, on-site spa treatments, private beach picnics, and catered, crewed cruises are available at extra cost.
