Greyhound Australia, the country's only nationwide bus line, travels to more than 1,000 destinations all over Australia. Bus stops are well signposted, and vehicles almost always run on schedule. It's 1,716 km (1,064 mi) and 30-plus hours between Brisbane and Cairns. Greyhound Australia's Roma Street office is open daily from 6 AM to 6:45 PM; you can also book by phone or online. Purchase point-to-point tickets, or flexible passes, such as the prepaid Aussie Explorer or Aussie Kilometre Pass, that allow multiple stops.

Crisps Coaches operates a regular daily service to the Southern Downs area from Brisbane, as well as towns to the south and west.
