The first resort on your way into Port Douglas off the Captain Cook Highway, this is also one of the coolest, thanks to the lush, tall rain-forest gardens that envelop the resort. Guest wings overlook dense vegetation, and linked lagoon pools contribute to a laidback, tropical ambience, as do the friendly staff. The bar often has live evening entertainment, and can get lively. The on-site day spa is a wood-lined oasis. A plus: it's opposite the delightful Rainforest Habitat Sanctuary.
