Babinda Boulders is a popular swimming hole, as well as a sacred Aboriginal site. It's located 6 km (4½ mi) inland from Babinda, which is accessible via the Bruce Highway. Stop in at the volunteer-run information center for more information and to check weather advisories; the swimming hole sometimes floods in the wet season. If you'd rather hike than drive to the boulders, take the 19-km (12-mi) Goldfield Track, which starts in Goldsborough Valley, a 90-minute drive southwest of Cairns.
