The open-air reception area of this gorgeous tropical resort flows seamlessly into the first of three pools, where a cascade of water immediately soothes the spirit. The swim-up, thatch-roof bar is a great place to have a cocktail. Sparkling white buildings here house spacious, sophisticated rooms and suites with cool contemporary furnishings, flatscreen TVs, CD players, whirlpool hot tubs, and lagoon or ocean views. But with landscaped grounds and dazzling Palm Cove beach a few steps away, you won't want to stay inside for long. Do make time for a treatment at the on-site Sanctum Spa. The resort's signature restaurant, Tamara's at the Beach, serves Modern Australian cuisine and tropical buffet breakfasts (open 6:30 AM till late).
