Resident managers Klaus and Lyn Ullrich have taken their expertise in hospitality, culled from years working at Sydney's poshest hotels and restaurants, to create this family-friendly hotel. Rooms, ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments, are clean and comfortable, with tiled floors, tropical colour schemes, some more restful than others, and rattan-wood furniture. The Bayleaf Balinese Restaurant should be on anyone's itinerary: its imaginative dishes leave a stronger impression than the somewhat characterless rooms. There's a large lagoon pool and the staff here is accommodating and helpful; they'll even pick you up from the airport between 7 AM and 7 PM. There are two rooms for people with disabilities and all public areas are wheelchair-accessible.
