A French provincial touch infuses this newly built Queenslander home. Four rooms and a self-contained cottage are brightly painted and furnished with a combination of antique and modern furniture; some rooms have fireplaces. Each has sweeping views of the property's 100 acres of rain forest and the distant Obi Gorge. The garden and its gazebo provide a tranquil haven. A three-course dinner (at A$65 per person) is available and may include such delights as crayfish risotto. If you have kids, call ahead to book the Snowpea Suite, which has an adjoining children's room. The cottage is wheelchair-friendly, with access to public areas via wheelchair walkways. There's a two-night minimum stay on weekends.
