The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary

Fodor's Review:

You'll have many chances to dine with animals around Australia, but the "Breakfast with the Birds" experience at the The Rainforest Habitat Wildlife Sanctuary—where exceptionally tame avian creatures surround you, even perching on your shoulders as you dine—is among the best. The park houses more than 180 species of tropical native wildlife, including cassowaries, parrots, wetland waders, koalas, kangaroos, and crocodiles in world-class "immersion" woodland, wetland, rain forest, and grassland environs. The sumptuous buffet breakfast, daily from 8 to 11, is A$39, including sanctuary admission and a guided tour. You can also Lunch with the Lorikeets for A$39, every day between 12 and 2. Get insider information via expertly guided tours and croc, snake, and koala shows, or take a self-guided stroll along the boardwalks.

  • Cost: A$29
  • Open: Daily 8-5
