Named for its previous business, this West End café is the place to go for breakfast on weekends (the potato-and-feta hash cakes are locally famous). The unfinished brick walls, where guns used to hang, lend a rustic ambience. Vases of lilies fill arches separating the open kitchen from the wooden tables; you can also dine outside on the sidewalk. An eclectic Mod-Oz menu incorporates Mediterranean and Asian flavors in dishes featuring local lamb, beef, goat, and seafood, along with vegetarian dishes and exciting salads. Australian foodies flock here for lunch and dinner, or for coffee and memorable cheesecakes—white chocolate and blueberry, Rocky Road, or berry-smothered Top Deck.
