$$-$$$, Eclectic, Brisbane
Fodor's Review:
By day the dining room at Brisbane's only floating restaurant is sunny and has a bird's-eye view of boat traffic. By night, light from the city and the moon dimple the water and lend an intimate, romantic feel. This purpose-built restaurant with floor-to-ceiling windows on three sides is permanently moored to the wharf at the inner-city suburb of Milton, a five-minute taxi ride from the city center. Queensland saltwater barramundi, steamed Moreton Bay bugs (lobsterlike crustaceans), and the restaurant's signature chilled seafood platter for two, as well as "surf 'n' turf" and vegetarian dishes, are on the à la carte menu, while the three-course set menu -- at A$43.95 per head -- is very popular. There's a large, all-Australian wine list.
