The architect-designed, immaculate luxury lodge is 5 km (3 mi) from Dreamworld, but its tranquil location makes it seem worlds away. Set high on a hill, surrounded by forest and manicured gardens, five private villas, three tree houses, and an executive lodge suite with an expansive separate living room have views to the Gold Coast beaches and high-rises as well as the surrounding bushland. The tree-house villas have their own plunge pools, while the spacious spa villas and elegant executive lodge suite have wood-burning fireplaces, hot tubs, plasma TVs, and high-speed Internet connections. Owners John and Jan Nicholls create a comfortable environment, with a choice of dinner-party-style or private meals in the main lodge's view-rich, sleekly refurbished dining room. Predinner drinks, hors d'oeuvres, and a three-course set dinner cost A$60 per person. Between meals, get pampered at Ruffles' tranquil day spa.
