A 10-minute walk from the South Bank Parklands takes you to this West End Queenslander dating from the early 20th century. The sprawling timber house has two simple, comfortable ground-floor guest rooms, and a large guest lounge that looks out onto a tropical garden. The price includes a self-service breakfast of homemade muesli, bread and jam, juice, cereal, yogurt, and brewed coffee. Guests can use the kitchen to make their own lunch and dinner. The lounge has a TV with cable channels, as well as DVD and CD players, and you can request a TV for your room. Groups taking both rooms have the option of self-catering. The owners, Charles and Dorothy Colman, speak Italian, French, and German. There's a minimum stay of seven nights.
