Novotel Twin Waters Resort

Fodor's Review:

About 9 km (5½ mi) north of Maroochydore, this hotel was built around a 15-acre saltwater lagoon bordering Maroochy River and Mudjimba Beach. The family-friendly resort lies adjacent to one of Queensland's finest golf courses, where golfers share the greens with kangaroos. There are resident golf, surfing, circus and tennis pros, and catamaran sailing, windsurfing, and canoeing on the lagoon is free for guests. Choose from three accommodation styles: twin Resort rooms; King Spa suites, each with a kitchenette, lounge area, and hot tub; and lavish over-water Lagoon Spa suites, popular with couples. All rooms have high-speed Internet, pay movies, and Sony PlayStations, and were given fresh soft furnishings in 2007. Lagoons day spa, perched over the water, incorporates a hair salon and art gallery. The resort's fine-dining restaurant, Lily's-on-the-Lagoon, sits over the water.
