Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park, a unique Aboriginal cultural center located at the base of the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway, provides many opportunities to learn about the history and lifestyle of the indigenous Djabugay people. Not only is this one of the most unusual and informative cultural attractions in the country, it's also one of few that returns its profits back to the community. Watch a dance performance, learn traditional songs, throw a spear, chuck a boomerang, or play a didgeridoo; you also can learn about bush foods and medicines. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Aboriginal artworks are for sale. Ticket options include a lunch package, or the Tjapukai by Night buffet dinner and performance (A$87 per person, A$103 with Cairns or Northern beaches transfers).
