Elegant guest rooms at this deluxe resort have cool, modern furnishings and wood-shuttered, openable windows overlooking manicured gardens, the golf course, or 5 acres of swimmable saltwater lagoons. On-call valets will assist you with everything from replenishing ice buckets to arranging in-room candlelight dinners. There are vast public areas and three distinctive dining spots: Zai does divine Japanese; Il Pescatore has Mediterranean-style fare; and light-filled Lagoons serves International cuisine with changing culinary themes, and big buffet breakfasts. You're free to use the gym and tennis courts at the neighboring Mirage Country Club.

This hotel is in real need for renovation. The room is its original 60s or 70s condition and everything is rusted. The place has rush gardens and a great pool. But that is the only positive ...
