Binna Burra Mountain Lodge & Campsite

Fodor's Review:

Founded in 1933, this group of hilltop cabins has sweeping views across the hinterland to the Gold Coast. Rustic lodge rooms and log cabins are cozy, secluded, and simply furnished, with a deliberate absence of TVs, radios, telephones, and clocks; some have shared bathrooms. There are two new luxury suites, built in 2007. Rates vary—good-value packages include breakfasts, or all meals, guided nature walks, and other activities, plus evening entertainment. Budget travelers can camp on-site, in tents, powered vans, or furnished safari-style tents with verandas. The main guest lounge has log fires in winter, while the Cliff-Top Dining Room has panoramic views over the Coomera Valley. Rejoove Health Spa (Daily 10-8) has a doctor, chiropractor, and naturopath, along with beauty, massage, and Gestalt therapists. Multi-night minimum stays are required in holiday periods. The Binna Burra shuttle bus (1800/074260) makes a daily round-trip between the property, Gold Coast Airport, and Nerang Station (book 24 hours ahead, A$30-$40).
