Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa

Fodor's Review:

The lobby's giant columns and grand circular staircase, cooled by a colorful Indian punkah (a decorative, rope-operated fan), typify this hotel's opulent style. The large guest rooms, decorated in gentle hues of beige, light plum, and moss green, have walk-in closets, marble bathrooms, balconies, and ocean and river views. The fish-filled lagoon swimming pool has a sandy beach and a cave grotto with a waterfall and is deep enough for scuba lessons or snorkeling. There's also a meandering freshwater pool. You can rent windsurfing equipment, water-skis, and catamarans to take on the river.
