Siggi's at the Port Office

Fodor's Review:

Socialites rub shoulders with visiting celebrities at this charming restaurant and bar in the Stamford Plaza Brisbane hotel. Service is impeccable, and decor makes full use of the 19th-century Port of Brisbane Office architecture. Monthly five-course degustation menus showcase the finest local seafood and seasonal produce, and might feature barramundi, duck, or truffles (A$89 per person, A$140 with matched wines). These offerings are supplemented by ever-changing Continental dishes, which could include Petuna ocean trout with pickled wild mushrooms or pancetta-wrapped aged beef fillet. Desserts, such as pistachio soufflé, chocolate truffle tart, or Siggi's signature crepes suzette à deux, prepared at the table, are just as worthy. There's a tapas menu for balcony and bar patrons, and an extensive wine list.
