At the Thomson Bay settlement, visit the Rottnest Museum, which includes memorabilia recalling the island's long and turbulent past. Displays show local geology, natural history, and maritime lore; there's also a convict building and an Aboriginal prison. It's open daily 10:45-3:30. The Wadjemup Lighthouse Tours —providing 360-degree panoramic views of Rottnest—allow the public into the Heritage-status lighthouse building for the first time in more than a century. Tours depart daily at 9 AM.
