When to Go

There's no wrong time to visit Western Australia. In Perth and south, you can view wildflowers in spring (September through November) and watch whales along the coast in fall (February through May). Although winter (May through August) is the wettest season, it's also when the orchards and forests are lush and green. North of Perth, winter is the dry season, and it can get chilly inland throughout the state. Summer (December through February) is hot, when temperatures can rise to 40°C (100°F) and higher.
