When to Go to New South Wales
For visitors from the northern hemisphere the Australian summer (approximately December-February) has great pull. The best times to visit the Hunter Valley are during the February-March grape harvest season and the June Hunter Food and Wine Festival. Spring and autumn are also ideal times to visit Canberra; from March to May, autumn leaves paint the city with amber hues. The spring flower celebration, Floriade, lasts from mid-September to mid-October. The North Coast resort region is often booked solid between Christmas and the first half of January, but autumn and spring are good times to visit.
