Bluetongue beers have become so popular since this boutique brewery opened in the Hunter Valley in 2002 that the owners decided to move the brewery out of the valley to a large purpose-built facility in the Central Coast town of Warnervale, about 65 km (40 miles) away. However the Bluetongue Cafe Brewery, in the old brewery space at Hunter Valley Resort, serves the brewer's acclaimed "three-hop" beers: premium lager, premium light lager, and pilsner, along with its alcoholic
ginger beer. You can order a chef's beer tasting "paddle" with several small glasses for A$15. You can enjoy fish-and-chips, meatballs, pizzas, and other light fare, and there's live music most days. Bluetongue is part of a large complex that incudes the resort, a wine school, the San Martino restaurant, and a wine-tasting cellar.
