Altitude Review

The lure of this decadent restaurant, perched high above Sydney Harbour on the 36th floor of the luxurious Shangri-La Hotel, is the view through the floor-to-ceiling windows, but the food is equally impressive. Chef Steve Krasicki presents an enticing menu of Mod-Oz dishes with a definite European influence. Seafood lovers will find ample selection among such dishes as ceviche of pink snapper and Hervey Bay scallops with pork belly. For a special occasion, gather a dozen friends to dine in the opulent, egg-shaped private dining room. On weekends the adjoining bar attracts a crowd that loves the thumping music, so it might be a good idea to beat it early or join in the fun.
