Fodor's Review

Fans of this popular Thai restaurant are loving its new look. The Bunker Bar, serving cocktails and snacks, has moved to a new basement level, leaving more room upstairs for new separate tables for six (groups of six must book to secure one), along with the traditional communal table. The generous-size mains are meant to be shared. Begin with a simple starter of either betel nut leaf with prawn-toasted coconut or a freshly shucked oyster with red chilli and coriander. Mains incude the stir-fried pork belly with chilli and ginger, while eggnets—lacy omelets filled with prawns, pork, peanuts, and beansprouts—are also a popular choice. Longrain's cocktails are legendary for their lethalness; try the ping pong, a luscious mix of passionfruit, lychee, and vodka. Sign up for one of the monthly cocktail classes to learn the barman's secrets. The Shortgrain casual venue has moved across the road to 8–10 Hunt Street, opposite the Hollywood Hotel (a pub).
