Bellingen Canoe Adventures. Hire a canoe or join an organized expedition on the Bellinger River, which meanders its way through some of the most spectacular and picturesque areas in the area. This company, which emphasises safety above everything else, offers a wide range of options including one-hour sunset tours (A$25), a half-day tour on calm water with tea (A$48) or full-day tours that promise the thrill of rapids and provide lunch as well (A$90). 02/6655–9955.


Gambaarri Tours. If you are interested in local Aboriginal culture, join one of these half-day tours led by local elder Wiruunngga. You'll learn about local history and look for bush tucker as you visit the Promised Land and the Never Never River. Morning or afternoon tea is provided. Horseback Riding

Valery Trails. This large equestrian center is 10 km (6 miles) from Bellingen on the edge of Bongil Bongil National Park. They have 60 horses, and offer a variety of treks through the local rain forests.
