Boat Tours

One of the best ways to see Melbourne is to board the Parks Victoria Yarra River Shuttle Service, which takes in Federation Square and Docklands, with stops at Southbank, the aquarium, the casino, and Victoria Harbour. Ferries depart every 30 minutes, every day. Daily pass tickets, which allow passengers to jump on and off en route, are available daily and cost A$14. The ferry operates on weekends and public holidays from 1 AM to 8 PM.

The modern, glass-enclosed boats of the Melbourne River Cruises fleet take 1- and 2½-hour Yarra River cruises daily (A$19.80 and A$33.80, respectively), traversing either west through the commercial heart of the city or east through the parks and gardens, or a combination of the two. Daily tours run every half hour from 10 to 4.

Melbourne Water Taxis pick passengers up at all piers and landings along the Yarra River from Victoria Street, Richmond, to Williamstown. The company operates daily year-round.

Gray Line also has boat tours.
