Hotel Tolarno

Fodor's Review:

Set in the heart of St. Kilda's café, bar, and club precinct, Hotel Tolarno was once owned by artists who ran a gallery out of the space. Even today the place has an artistic bent; many of the rooms and common spaces are decorated with paintings by students of the Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) and Royal Melbourne Institute of TAFE (RMIT). The color schemes here are a bit garish (red, purple, and orange dominate), and the furnishings are basic, but this is a friendly, funky place to stay (or to have a bite in Tolarno's new Mirka restaurant).

  • Hotel Details: 35 rooms
  • In-room: kitchen, Wi-Fi (some).
  • In-hotel: restaurant, laundry facilities, laundry service.
